We are looking for a motivated and experienced Product Manager to join our Dandenong-based team.

The opportunity

As our Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing the products under the Otter brand. This will include managing a portfolio of products, including financials and marketing, as well as identifying opportunities to expand our Otter product range.

As part of the sales and marketing team, you will report to the National Sales and Marketing Manager, work alongside the sales and marketing teams, and collaborate with finance and operations. Working closely with the rest of the business, you will have the support of previous product managers within the business.

Your product portfolio will include loose screws, loose nails, rivets and nuts and bolts - and you will already have an understanding of these products and their use. You will use this knowledge to help identify gaps in our portfolio where we could expand our range of products.

Your duties will include:

  • Market research, including compiling analysis and reports from data analysis and focus groups on industry and product data
  • Analysing consumer, market, and product trends to manage your product portfolio effectively and create business cases for new products 
  • Review pricing and compare with trends and competitor pricing to make recommendations and adjustments 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to set long-term brand and product marketing strategies
  • Integrated marketing planning
  • Work alongside other areas of the business to develop budgets including revenue and gross margin, and analyse financial performance versus forecasts and budgets 
  • Prepare reports on your product portfolio for various internal and external stakeholders
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality by following and encouraging all policies and procedures 
  • Make recommendations to lower production costs while keeping quality at the forefront
  • Analyse inventory and stock levels to make recommendations to the sales team, including reviewing current products 
  • Ad hoc review and analysis of your product portfolio as required

You’ll be great in this role because

As the Product Manager, you have an understanding of and experience with fasteners and other hardware products. You will be organised with good time management skills and strong attention to detail. 

Joining our supportive team, you will be eager to join in and help where needed. You will have substantial knowledge and understanding of product management. 

You will have:

  • Minimum two years experience in Product Management
  • An undergraduate qualification in business or a related discipline
  • Substantial experience and thorough understanding of marketing
  • Experience with data analysis and research
  • A continuous improvement mindset
